About me
My name is Juho Sammalkorpi, and I’m a Helsinki based practitioner of acupuncture and chinese medicine. The purpose of my work is to help people find solutions to chronic pain and longstanding health problems. I speak fluent english.
In addition to my acupuncture practice, I teach at the clinic of Kiinalaisen lääketieteen akatemia and I am a board member of Finnacu.
What I do
Acupuncture and pain
One major application of acupunture is the treatment of different pain conditions. It alleviates pain via multiple mechanisms and it can also be used to treat chronic conditions. My specialization is in treating pain – both understanding the different conditions and knowledge of specialized acupuncture techniques in pain treatment (orthopedic acupuncture).
Nervous system
In modern life our autonomic nervous system gets easily dysregulated. This can manifest in symptoms such as overstimulation, sleep difficulties, fatigue, digestive problems, or mental health issues. Especially when they become chronic, it can be challenging to address them on your own. Acupuncture often serves as an excellent aid in these situations.
Muscular maintenance and rehab
There are acupuncture techniques that treat various muscular issues, such as tightened and shortened muscles, trigger points or poor muscle activation. In addition to treating pain, these techniques can also be used as part of versatile muscle maintenance or as rehabilitation treatment, e.g. after injuries or surgeries.

How to get here
The place is in the premises of the Cultural Centre Sähinä, in the first floor. It is reached easily by car and there are plenty of parking spots behind the building for visitors. The place is also a walking distance (5-10min) away from the Lauttasaari metro station.
